Obituary of Gertrude E. Pelletier

Gertrude E. Pelletier, 92, of Killingly Drive, Danielson, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Regency Heights Nursing Home in Danielson. She was the beloved wife of Fernand Pelletier, they were married September 4, 1948, he died April 5, 1976. She was born January 19, 1918 in Southbridge, MA daughter of the late George and Rose (Baron) Despres. She was a communicant of St. James Church, she made her home in Danielson since 1948. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As a young woman she enjoyed ice skating and swimming. In her later years she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching the Red Sox and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and UNITE HERE. She leaves her son Norman and his wife Carol Pelletier of Danielson, her daughter Susan Pelletier of Danielson, a brother John Despres of Charlton, MA, a sister Helen Scannell of Pensacola, FL, grandchildren Melissa and Lisa Pelletier, Gary Baker and his wife Chrysse, Michelle Hartwell and her husband Robert, great grandchildren Alyssa, Brandon, Samantha, Autumn, Teagan and her niece and dear friend Gisele Boulais. She was predeceased by nine siblings. The Funeral will be Friday, May 21, 2010 at 9:30 AM from Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Calling Hours will be Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
