Obituary of Grace C. Mitchell

Grace C. Mitchell, 81, of Dyer Street, Danielson formerly of Eastford, CT, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Southbridge, MA. She was born May 14, 1929 in Gatesville, NC; she was the daughter of the late Willie and Della (Bond) Freeman. She made her home in Eastford, raising her children. Grace was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a great fan of country music. Grace is survived by her children; Lloyd Mitchell of Pomfret, Barbara Mitchell of Storrs, Beverley Mitchell of Vernon, Grace Mominie of Southbridge, MA, Dayle Mitchell of Oxford, MA, Sherman Mitchell of Danielson, Shirley Mitchell of Columbia; siblings, Evelyn Roscoe of Waterbury, Willie Freeman Jr. of Gates County, NC, Henry Grant Freeman of Gates County, NC, Eddie Clark Freeman of Tyner, NC, Rose Nowell of Gates County, NC, Gerald Freeman of Waterbury, Ernest Freeman of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryon, Madyson, Shawn and Stephanie. She was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Mitchell and sister, Estelle Freeman. Services are private, Smith and Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
