Don Burton was the very first person to welcome & encourage us to finish our house & move in, back in the 70's. He was a very kind, & interesting neighbor, with a great sense of humor & engaging personality. He will be so sadly missed as a good friend. I will forever connect the quaint beauty of Cooney Rd. to our good hearted neighbor & friend of so many decades.
With love & may you rest in peace Don Burton.

My wife Cheryl and I knew Don for the past 30 years. When Cooney Rd. was just a trail, he welcomed us as we built our modest home down the road back into the woods. Witty, pugnacious, and friendly, all describe Don. The Mayor of Cooney Rd. will be sadly missed, and that ready smile !!!

I met Donald Burton when he became a patron of Killingly Public Library. Mr. Burton was always friendly and liked to stay and have a short conversation with the library desk staff. He always made me smile, and I am sorry that he will never cross our doorway again. Although I did not know him well, I can sincerely say that he was a nice man and HE WILL BE MISSED. My condolences to the Burton family.
