Obituary of James Michael Patton

Brooklyn - James Michael Patton of Brooklyn, CT, died peacefully on the morning of August 1, 2010, five days before his 86th birthday. He was born the son of Peter Paul and Marie (O'Donoghue) Patton in New Haven, CT on August 6, 1924. He was predeceased by his parents, his step-father Michael J. Boyle, two brothers, Peter and John. On January 29, 1949 he was married to Marcella Marguerite Elizabeth Desmarais, who survives him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Mark Jeffrey Joseph Patton and his partner, Jean Blaser of Pomfret, CT; a second son Dennis Michael Patrick Patton of Brooklyn, CT; a daughter Cathleen Ellen Bridget Wyman of Manchester, NH; and a granddaughter Mariah Louise Wyman of Connellsville, PA. He is survived, also, by his sisters Marie (Mrs. Robert) Beach of Potomac, MD; Eileen Deskin of Northford, CT, a brother Michael Boyle of Wallingford, CT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was an inveterate kidder who loved a good joke, and was a United States Marine (WWII). Above all, though, he was an Irishman. Top o' the mornin', Jay. There are no calling hours, burial will be private in South Cemetery, Brooklyn. Donation may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice.
