Obituary of Helen J. Carlson

Woodstock - Helen J. Carlson, 91, of Route 197, Woodstock, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Day Kimball Hospital. She was born December 21, 1918 in Woodstock, daughter of the late Ernest and Mathilda S. (Peterson) Peterson. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Carlson, they were married at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Woodstock September 2, 1944, he died June 30, 1987. Helen was a Junior Observer for the local Weather Bureau. For many years she did housekeeping for area families. She leaves her nieces Eleanor Warren and Roberta Allen both of Dayville, Barbara Lappen of Manchester and Joyce Marcy of Louisville, KY, a nephew Roy Shenning of Bradenton, FL. Helen was predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Lawton and Agnes Peterson and three brothers Raymond, George and Earnest Peterson and a niece Elizabeth Burke. A Graveside Service will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Elmvale Cemetery, Woodstock, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Woodstock, 24 Child Hill Road, Woodstock, CT.
