Obituary of Raymond A. Lafortune

Raymond A. Lafortune, 82, of Edmond Street, Putnam, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Matulaitis Nursing Home. He was born August 8, 1928 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of the late Leonidas and Alice (Lefebvre) Lafortune. Raymond was the beloved husband of 57 years to Pauline (Belleville), they were married June 21, 1953. Raymond had worked for Cranston Print Works for many years, retiring in 1992. He was a Communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation. Raymond enjoyed his motorcycle rides and loved spending time with his family. Raymond is survived by his wife Pauline and their children; Alan Lafortune and his wife Connie of Putnam, James Lafortune and his wife Denise of Sebastian, FL, Richard Lafortune and his wife Deborah of Plainfield, brothers; Armand Lafortune of North Grosvenordale, Lucien Lafortune of Putnam, sisters; Estelle Hebert of Brooklyn, Loretta Mikkelson of FL, grandchildren; Timothy, Joel, Lauren, Lindsay, Courtney, great-grandchildren; Thomas James, Bailey, Connor and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by a son Dennis Lafortune, brothers; Alfonse and Emile Lafortune, a sister Juliette Perreault. The Funeral will be Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM from Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, CT. Calling hours will be Friday from 8:15 to 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
