Obituary of James Simmons, Sr.

James Simmons, Sr., 78, of Slater Hill Rd. East Killingly, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 after a battle with cancer. Son of the late Harry and Bertha (Melleu) Simmons. He was born March 16, 1932 in Putnam, CT. James was a hard worker throughout his life and loved to be working outside. He enjoyed OTB and doing yard work. He leaves his wife Phyllis (Wade) Simmons; 7 children; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 brother; 4 sisters and he was predeceased by 10 family members. There will be a Memorial Service at East Killingly Fire House 1395 Hartford PikeEast Killingly, CT on October 9, 2010 at 1PM. Burial is private at High Street Cemetery Dayville, CT.
