Obituary of Deborah Jeanne Desmarais

Deborah Jeanne Desmarais, born July 19, 1949, passed on Sunday May 5, 2013 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT, under hospice care after a prolonged illness. Debby was a resident of Fabyan, CT, residing with her mother. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. She worked in past years as a medical transcriptionist for W. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Debby was a lover of literature, knowledge and her favorite pastime was reading. She loved all animals and was a kind supporter and frequent contributor to many animal rescue organizations. She was also a friend and contributor to "The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls" of Chicago, Illinois. Her best friends were Laura Chilkott of Florida, and her beloved cat "Pinnochio". Debby had a bright and vibrant nature, she loved dancing, music and singing. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a quiet and kind individual with a soft, lovely, caring nature and was loved by everyone, touching all she met. Debby will be sadly missed and the world will be less bright without her in it. She leaves her mother Sophie Desmarais of Fabyan, CT, her three sisters; Tonie Martin of Fabyan, CT, Patricia Desmarais of Killingly, CT and Katherine Burke of San Francisco, CA, her three brothers; Scott Desmarais of Thompson, CT, Russell Desmarais of Fabyan, CT and Mark Desmarais of Chester, CT and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Mass will be May 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen's Church, 130 Old Turnpike Road, Quinebaug, CT, with a reception following mass.
