Obituary of Margaret Mushero
Woodstock-Margaret Alderson McKechnie Mushero
Margaret Mushero, age 83, of Woodstock, died in her home on October 4, 2010 with her family beside her. Marge was born in West Haven, CT on February 14, 1927, the daughter of Mary Wood Brownell and Edward Alderson. She served as Past Worthy Advisor, for the W. Haven Assemble and Past Grand Worth Associate Advisor for the State of CT Assembly of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1944. Marge married George S. McKechnie in 1952. She worked for United Illuminating and for in the West Haven Tax Office.
With their four children they moved to Pomfret, CT in 1969 and then to Woodstock in 1977. Margaret worked as the outpatient registrar at Day Kimball Hospital from 1970 until her retirement in 1989. After her retirement Marge became an active member of the hospital's volunteer staff, where she served until last year. Margaret married Hollis Mushero in 1988 and they lived in Woodstock during the summer and wintered in Palm Harbor, FL. Marge was active in her retirement traveling, golfing, bowling enjoying the company of many good friends and her loving family.
Margaret is survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild: David McKechnie of Asmera, Eritrea his wife Kathy and his children Conor and Haleigh; Nancy Ager of Waterford, CT, her husband Robert and her children Robert, Lindsay and Nicole and Lindsay's daughter Reese; Paul McKechnie of Hamden, CT and his children Peyton, Caroline and Mariah; and Susan McKechnie of Woodstock, CT and her daughters Megan and Avery. Margaret was predeceased by her brother Charles Brownell of Orange, CT, her first husband George McKechnie and Hollis Mushero.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Woodstock 543 Route 169, Woodstock on Sunday, October, 10th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Hospice of Northeastern CT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260 or the First Congregational Church of Woodstock, PO Box 147, Woodstock CT 06281.
