Obituary of Judith G. Williams

Judith G. (Brown) Williams, 75, of Putnam, Connecticut, went to be with the Lord, November 15, 2010. Judith was born in New London, CT on August 4, 1935, daughter of the late Lloyd & Edith Brown. Judith lived the majority of her life in Putnam. She married Carl Williams on March 16, 1957, they were married 35 years, he passed away in 1992. Judith was highly devoted to her family throughout her life and enjoyed writing children's stories and reading them to her grandchildren as well as the youngest members in the church. As a tribute to her strong faith, she served as an active member of the Putnam Baptist Church for over 40 years. While living at Little River Acres, her residence for the past 18 years, she served on the Board of Directors and worked as a caregiver to several of the residents. Judith also served as a volunteer at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn, CT for many years. Judith is survived by her daughter Cheryl Williams Sheehan of Clinton, MA, her grandson Ryan Cournoyer and his wife Olena of Manhattan, NY, a sister Beverly Moir Hamilton and her husband Ernest, nieces and nephews: Atty Bradford and Mary Moir of Westfield, MA; Randy Moir of Napa Valley, TX; Scott and Belia Moir of W. Springfield, MA; Cindi and Fred Testa of Brighton, MI; Brent Moir of Gloucester, MA; two step granddaughters: Nina and Trinity Hawkins, three step great grandchildren: Austin, Keaira & Gavin, two adopted grandchildren Logan & Katelyn Tarr all of Putnam, several great nieces and nephews. Judith was loved by her family and brought joy to everyone's life she touched. She loved children and taught us important family values we will never forget. A Memorial Service will be December 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in Grove Street Cemetery.
