I just now found this obituary, and that’s why it is so dated.
I worked as a library page at the Central Massachusetts Regional Library System headquarters at the Worcester Public Library during the 1970’s. I remember when Barbara came to us as the new Administrator. Barbara introduced many new services to library patrons, particularly as they related to regional member (suburban Worcester) town libraries.
I remember that she was a private pilot, and maybe that’s part of the reason that I took flying lessons myself. I did not know of all the other facets of her life, so reading this obit enlightened my insight into this fascinating career woman.
Surely, she had a lot of accomplishments to be proud of. I remember her as a concerned and decent manager, leader, and role model to many people.
