Obituary of Donald J. Warren

Donald J. Warren, 62, of Groveland Ave, Putnam, CT, died Wednesday evening, January 19, 2011 at the Regency Heights Nursing Home in Danielson after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was the beloved husband of Julie (Rhault) Warren. He was born May 10, 1948 in Putnam, CT, son of Donald M. and Lucille (Bernier) Warren.

Donald was an active member for over 20 years with the Putnam Fire Department; he served with Company 1, as a driver and EMT. He was lasted employed at John M Dean and Company; he worked for Putnam Water and Sewer Departments, and was employed for over20 years at the former Putnam Hertzel. Donald was a strong and caring husband, father and grandfather. He had a great love for the outdoors, enjoyed hiking, gardening, biking and woodworking.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Julie, his step father, Albert Bourgault of Grosvenordale, CT, his daughters, Donna Poulin of Winterhaven, FL; Doreen Hertzfeld of South Kingstown, RI; Michelle Bartholic of Dayville, CT, his grandchildren: Alex; Barry; Amanda; Drew; Cody, Colton.

The Funeral will be Monday at 9:00 AM from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery. Callings Hours will be Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
