Dorothy M. Peck, of Hampton Road, Abington, CT, died February 2, 2011 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the beloved wife of Merritt E. "Budd" Peck. They were married in 2004. She was born September 30, 1934 in Cheshire, CT, daughter of Milton and Rose (Mitchell) Cooke. Dorothy retired in 1994 after 20 years, from Middlesex Assurance Company in Middletown; she was a assistant Vice President of Commercial Lines. She was a member of the Abington Congregational Church. In 1978 she opened the "Cheese And" a gourmet store in Middletown. She was a licensed Realtor. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She leaves in addition to her husband Budd, her children: Donna D'Amico-Buonocore and her husband Michael of Wolcott; Cynthia D'Amico-Casanova of Abington; Thomas D'Amico and his wife Teresa of Wolcott; John D'Amico of Abington, her siblings Rosemary Shelton of Nashville, TN; Helen Cooke of Waterbury, CT; Milton Cooke of Cheshire, CT; her grandchildren Jason, Jennifer, Nicholas, Justin, Allyssa, Tommy, Jeyson, and five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Edna Lauber. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday February 19, 2011at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association at 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT, 06108-3272.
