Obituary of Evelyn H. Cleveland

Evelyn H. Cleveland, 92, formerly of Maple Courts, Danielson, died Saturday at the Regency Heights Nursing Home, Danielson, CT. She was the wife of the late Gordon R. Cleveland, he died in 1989. She was born October 21, 1918 in West Lebanon, NH, daughter of the late Harry and Louise (Aikens) Griggs. She had made her home in Lebanon, New Hampshire most of her live, in 1984 Evelyn and her husband retired to South Carolina, in 2000 she relocated to Danielson, CT and made her home at Maple Courts II. She was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. Evelyn was active with her husband for many years with the Order of The Eastern Star in Lebanon. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, traveling and was an avid Red Sox fan. She leaves her daughters: Judith L. Johnson and her husband Wayne of South Killingly; Diane Brady and her husband Thomas of Liberty, SC; two grandsons: Thomas Johnson and his wife Diana of South Killingly; Jason White of Liberty, SC; three great grandchildren: Erin White of Liberty, SC; Dylan Johnson and Lucas Johnson both of South Killingly; a nephew, Raymond Luddy and his wife Barbara of Reading, MA; she was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Luddy of Newington CT and two grandsons, Jeffrey Ross and Justin White of South Carolina. Graveside Service will be held in the spring in Oak Grove Cemetery in New Hampshire, with military honors. Donations may be made in her memory to the Masonicare Hospice, 33 N.
