Obituary of Charles Paul Shippee

Charles Paul Shippee, 57, formerly of Danielson and Brooklyn, CT, died Sunday February 27, 2011 in Fayetteville, NC. He was born June 14, 1953 in Putnam, CT, son of Walter A. and Theresa (Wallen) Shippee, Sr. Later, made his home with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gagnon of Brooklyn. A graduate of KHS, class of 1971, he was an undefeated cross-country runner and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Charles retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 23 years of military service. He is survived by daughter, Jenilee D'Ortona (David) and granddaughter Addison and daughter Megan, of Schenectady, NY, son, Ryan and former wife Nancy Hoyt Gaudreau of Danielson, CT. Survived by siblings Suzy Armstrong, John Shippee, Dennis Edison, Kevin Shippee, and Norma Eileen Webster. Also, Stephen Gagnon, David Gagnon, Douglas Gagnon, William Gagnon, and a good friend Michael Barnick of Nampa, ID. He was predeceased by brother Walter A Shippee, Jr. and sister Mattie Shippee Wood. A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, March 17th at the Hoyt residence at 17 Stone Street, Danielson from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with memorial service at 6:00 PM. Burial will be in National Veterans' Cemetery, Bourne, MA on Friday, March 18th at 11:00 AM with military honors. www.smithandwalkerfh.com
