Genevieve E. Shippee 95, of High Street, Dayville, died Friday evening, May 31, 2013 at the Westview Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of 68 years of Howard E. Shippee, he died August 27, 2009. She was born January 28, 1918 in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Clarence F. and Bertha G. (Nye) Williams, Sr. She had made her home in Killingly all her life, a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Danielson, and had served on the Altar Guild. She had worked for 14 years at WT Grant as a sales clerk. She was a long time member of the Killingly Grange #112 and had served as Pomona. A member of the American Legion Post 21 Ladies Auxiliary in Danielson. She enjoyed crafts including crocheting. She had a great love for her family especially her grandchildren. She leaves her daughter Lora Erskine of Dayville; grandchildren Ray Erskine of Dayville; Erica Willey and her husband Justin of Killingly; sister Eunice Goodman of Brooklyn; brothers Sidney Williams of Southbridge, Donald Williams of Danielson, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Ted Erskine; siblings Bertha Perry; Lillian Rondeau; Edith Steen; Eva Jodoin; Helen Causey; Ida Manuilow; Ernest Williams; Clarence Williams, Jr.; Arthur Williams. Funeral will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at St. Alban's Church, 254 Broad Street, Danielson, CT. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the ST Alban's Church, Hospice of NECT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT; or Killingly Grange, 801 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT 06241.
