Veronica (Dudek) Cimochowski, 99, of Brooklyn, died Thursday at home. She was the beloved wife of the late John Cimochowski; they were united in marriage April 29, 1939 at St. Joseph's Church, Dayville, CT. He predeceased her on May 8, 1999. Born February 4, 1912 in Thompson, daughter of the late Andrew and Agatha (Porzuczek) Dudek. She was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Killingly Public Schools. The Lord endowed her with a very sharp mind and keen wit. Many years she enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and with her indoor plants and flowers. She enjoyed canning vegetables and fruit. She wrote poetry, enjoyed sewing and did many oil paintings in her later years in life. She took an immense interest in the weather and world events. Two weeks prior to her death she was doing her word jumbles and word finds and prior to her last hospitalization was reading a weekly Women's magazine, crocheting and visiting with family. She leaves her daughters: Rose and son-in-law Bruce Bousquet of Moosup; Valeria Cooke of Dayville; Joan Cimochowski of Woodstock, her son: John and daughter-in-law Suzanne Cimochowski of Woodstock, eight grandchildren: Lynette Swanson; Christine Stanton, Bruce Bousquet, Jr.; Jonathan Bousquet; Jayne Bousquet; Julie Michalski; Lindsey Cimochowski, Matthew Cimochowski, great grandchildren: Brent and Devin Stanton; Delia and Tyler Bousquet; Fallon and Alexa Michalski, step great grandchild: Kristy Swanson, two step great great grandchildren: Katelyn Hawkins; Shane Sroczenski, a brother: Felix and sister-in-law Jill Dudek of Dayville, sisters-in law: Cecile Dudek; Stasia Dudek, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Theodore; Stanley; Walter, and sisters: Mary Dudek; Alice Sliva and Helen Rainey. The Funeral will be 10:30 AM, Monday, March 28, 2011 from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson follow by a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of LaSalette Church, 25 Providence Road, Brooklyn, CT 06234. Calling hours Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Donations may be made in her memory to Our Lady of LaSalette Church.
