Obituary of Irene Grzysiewicz
Irene Grzysiewicz, 82, of Danielson died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Pierce Memorial Baptist Homes in Brooklyn. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Grzysiewicz, they were married July 1, 1961 in Webster, MA. He died December 9, 2007. She was born May 7, 1929 in New Britain, daughter of the late Stanley and Winifred (Kochanek) Sugalski.
She had attended St. Joseph School and Bartlett High School in Webster, MA. Irene made her home in Danielson for over 47 years, formerly of Webster, MA. She was a communicant of St. James Church. From 1962 - 1966, she gave of her time as a Brownie / Girl Scout Leader at St. James School. Irene enjoyed sewing, craft projects, and home decorating. She worked part time at Killingly High School Cafeteria. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and was very devoted to her family.
She leaves her children; Thomas Grzysiewicz and his wife Michele of Dayville, Linda Aschenbach and her husband Mark of Brooklyn, Kathleen Kania and her husband Walter of Dayville, siblings; Walter Sugalski, Vincent Sugalski, Stanley Sugalski, Joseph Sugalski, Theresa McManamay and Dorothy Jolicoeur, grandchildren; Candice Hoy, Lori Gidopoulos, Ryan Kania, Derek and Jason Grzysiewicz, great grandchildren; Kassandra, Adrianna, Kristina. She was predeceased by a brother Edward Sugalski.
Calling Hours 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2011at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. The Funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Foundation, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
