Doris C. Gordon, 93, of Putnam, formerly of Quinebaug, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was the beloved wife of Milton Gordon, he passed away in 1986. She was born December 18, 1917 in Providence, RI, daughter of the late George and Catherine (Schaeffer) Boisclair. She was a machine operator with Belding Hemingway where she retired from after many years. She was a communicant of St. Steven's Church for 50 years. She loved going to Foxwoods to play bingo and cards. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her dearest friend Laura Ethier. She was predeceased by her siblings; Florence Barylski of Grosvenordale, William Boisclair of Oxford, MA, Lillian Deveau Berube of Southbridge, MA, Mildred Aucoin of Putnam and Irene Whitney of Mechanicsville. The Funeral Service will be Friday June 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street Putnam, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 130 Old Turnpike Road, Quinebaug, CT. Burial will follow at West Thompson Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday June 10, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
