Richard, 82, formerly of Putnam, died July 15, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Rene W. Richard. Lorraine was born February 22, 1929 in Putnam, daughter of the late Louis and Clara Provost of Pomfret. She was employed for 45 years at the American Optical Company, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed knitting and embroidery, an avid reader of mystery and enjoyed playing cards. Lorraine and Rene enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She was an active member of St. Mary Church in Putnam and the Daughters of Isabella. She leaves her brother: Lucien Provost of Nevada; sisters: Aurore Demers of North Carolina; Jeanne Fisk of California; Claire Dion of Canterbury; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Romeo Provost, Laurent Provost and sisters Theresa Beaudoin, Lillian Berthiaume. Calling Hours Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, CT.
