Barbara, and her husband Charlie Spahl "anchored" Thompson Hill for many decades with their service and volunteerism to the Town. Their stately old home was kept in a beautiful fashion with lovely perennials, shrubs and loyal dogs and cats to accessorize and share comaraderie. Hardy characters who persevered in life, our Town misses the generation of Spahls and others who shouldered and weatherd so many trials and good times of Town life from the WWII era forward. Vivid memories of seeing Barbara walking to churh over the now grassed over path, dressed with dignity and determination remain with many a townsfolk.
