Obituary of John H. Leins, Jr.

BROOKLYN - John H. Leins, Jr., 61, of Brooklyn, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA. He leaves his beloved wife Marion (Currier) Leins they were married on May 3, 1969. Born in White Plains, NY on September 1, 1949, son of the late John H. Sr., and Marjorie (McNiff) Leins. John was a lifelong resident of Pomfret, most recently moving to Brooklyn. John worked as a Production Planner at Whitcraft in Eastford. John was a very active longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Pomfret. John was also a former member of the Sports Car Club of America. He will be remembered as an avid history buff, a modeling enthusiast and a huge road racing fan. In addition to his wife Marion, he leaves two daughters Cherish Greene of Newark, DE and Rikki Leins of Putnam; his sister Pamela Robbins of Willimantic; three grandchildren Tabitha, Jesse, and Amara and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Monday, August 29, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, with a Funeral Service Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the First Congregational Church of Pomfret, 13 Church Road, Pomfret Center, CT.
