Obituary of Lawrence G. St. Onge

Lawrence G. St. Onge May 29, 1931 - October 19, 2011 Brooklyn - It is with profound sadness, the family of "Larry" St. Onge announces his death. Larry passed peacefully after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Cherished husband of Rachel (Blanchette) of Wauregan. They were married in Sacred Heart Church, October 30, 1953. His survivors include his three loving daughters, Joanne Stephens of New Milford, CT, Kathleen Marin of Carmel, NY, Elizabeth Starnes of San Angelo, TX, nine grandchildren Christoper and Susanna Stephens, Eric, Matthew, Elisabeth, Amanda (Marin) Waldvogel, Adam, Stephanie, Jacob Starnes and their fathers, Chris Stephens, Eric Marin, David Starnes, six great grandchildren, a brother Norman of Spotswood, NJ, numerous relatives and friends. Larry, graduated PHS Class of 49, where he belonged to the Chess Club and played football. He served with the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He attended Coyne Radio/TV School, Chicago, joining IBM and retiring after 35 years. He developed his business "Computer Based Training" for security airport systems and also a smoking cessation program, volunteering in hospital and churches to assist those who chose to "Kick the Habit". His spare time interests included football, classic movies and he was also an avid reader, a member of Andover Sportsmen's Club, he enjoyed spending winters in San Angelo, TX. His most enjoyable times were spent riding his BMW motorcycle on country roads. His quick wit and humor was a gift to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29 at Our Lady of LaSalette Church, Brooklyn, CT. Interment will be private.
