Obituary of Florence M. Streeter

Florence M. (Shaw) Streeter, 95, of Woodstock formerly of Pomfret, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Westview Health Care in Killingly. Wife of the late Walter Streeter he died in 1964. She was born May 1, 1916 in Putnam, daughter of the late Carlton and Georgietta (Brigham) Shaw. Florence was a Life member of the Wolf Den Grange. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Florence loved to garden and entertain her friends and family at Roxbury Village where she had lived for the last 29 years. Florence is survived by her daughter Sherrill Croteau and her husband Richard of Jewett City, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twelve siblings, Clarence M. Shaw, Robert Shaw, G. Stanley Shaw, Irving Shaw, Evelyn (Shaw) Sherman, Walter Shaw, Ruth Shaw, Lillian Shaw, Beatrice (Shaw) Danielson, Emily Shaw, Clayton Shaw and Phillip Shaw. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Living Faith United Methodist Church, 53 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, burial to follow in Grove Street Cemetery.
