Obituary of Cecile DuPont

Cecile DuPont, 89, of Thompson died after a long battle with cancer on January 31, 2012 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. The beloved wife of the late Leonard DuPont, who died April 14, 1988. She was born October 3, 1922 in Thompson, daughter of the late Paul and Anita (Audette) Aucoin.

Cecile was a lifelong resident of Thompson. She was a communicant of St Joseph Church in Thompson, a member of the Ladies of ST Ann and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Cecile loved crocheting, reading, trips to Foxwoods Casino, playing cards with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her daughters; Claire Tinker and her companion Peter Lukin of Woodstock, Anita Santerre and her husband Michael of Putnam. A brother Leo Aucoin of Southbridge, MA, as well as a sister and best friend Dorothy Bates of Thompson. Her grandchildren Michelle Jodrey and husband Walter, David Santerre and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the St Joseph Church, 18 Main Street, North Grosvenordale , CT. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
