Obituary of Steven J. Cloutier

Steven J. Cloutier, 50, of Fairview Street in Danielson, CT, died on February 11, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones, at UMASS Memorial in Worcester, MA. He was the husband of Anita (McGovern) Cloutier. Mr. Cloutier was born in Providence, RI, son of the late Leo and Adelina (Bonar) Cloutier. He had been employed for several years at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics. He served nearly 8 years in the U.S. Army National Guard followed by 4 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was also a former volunteer fireman in Ashaway, RI. Beginning in 1999, he worked at Hi-Tech Profiles in Pawcatuck, CT for 5 years where he met his wife. Most recently he was working in Gales Ferry, CT as a Security Guard for Securitas. He liked to fix just about anything in or around the house but enjoyed working on cars and small engines the most. He was a loving husband, father and friend who always gave without taking and he will be sorely missed. Survivors include his wife Anita, his son Phillip Coad and his wife Stephanie of Nashua, NH, his two daughters Kathy and Steffanie Cloutier of Ashaway, his siblings and their spouses; Lawrence and Linda Cloutier of Bradford, RI, Cheryl and Bailey Blanchette of Lake Mary, FL, Sharon and David Roode of North Stonington, CT, Janice and Stephen Rubin of North Stonington, Sheila and George Joslin, Jr. of Ashaway, Lorraine and Michael Fleck of Apollo Beach, FL; his mother-in-law Therese McGovern of Woodstock, CT, his four stepchildren, Ronald, Nicole, Justin and Craig Dumas, three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT with a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm.
