Obituary of Henry A. St. Germain
Henry A. St. Germain, 98, of Danielson, passed away at the Matulaitis Nursing Home, Putnam, CT on Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was the son of the late Henry F. and Sylvia (Blanchette) St. Germain. He was born August 21, 1913 in Wauregan, CT. He was the beloved husband of the late Gabrielle (Richard) St. Germain.
Henry was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. He graduated from St. James School in 1929. He was a Loom Fixer for over twenty years. He later worked for Pratt and Whitney, Rogers Corp, Jacob's Rubber and he also assisted his son Andre at the Plainfield Medical Pharmacy. During WWII he served in the Merchant Marines.
He leaves three grandchildren: Stephen and his wife Kristin St. Germain of Canterbury, Kristin and her husband Thomas Parkes of Plainfield, David and his wife Jill St. Germain of Pomfret Center, his great grandchildren Michael and Alexa St. Germain of Canterbury, John T. Parkes of Plainfield. He leaves behind, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Andre L. St. Germain, his siblings: Doris E. Savoie, Emile St. Germain, Berthe Brouillard, Ida Landry, Oliver St. Germain and Lorraine Senecal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 10:30 AM in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. There will be a calling hour from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT. To share a memory with his family "Light a Candle" at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
