Obituary of Hazel M. Tarr

Hazel M. Tarr, 87, of Putnam died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam. The beloved wife of Albion Tarr, they were married for 61 years. Hazel was born on December 18, 1924, in Augusta, ME, daughter of the late James and Nora (Adams) Devereaux. She worked as a School Teacher at Thompson Elementary School for 25 years. Hazel enjoyed square dancing, baking, embroidery and loved to read. She is survived by her husband: Albion, a daughter Sally Lamiotte-Tarr of Killingly, two sons: Albion Tarr, Jr. "Sonny" and his wife Paula of Dayville, James Tarr and his wife Sandra of Thompson; four grandchildren, Jamie Tarr, E.J. Lamiotte, Dawn Dumas, Melissa Frechette; three great-grandchildren, August Frechette, Christine and Layla Reynolds and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be Monday, March 26, 2012 at 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
