Obituary of Doris E. Desmarais
Doris E. Desmarais, 83, of Ballouville Road, Dayville, died Sunday Morning April 15, 2012 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was born August 4, 1928 in Attawaugan, CT, daughter of the late Albert and Blanch (Coullard) Herard. Doris was the beloved wife of the late William Donald Desmarais. They were married by Father Lavallee on June 27, 1953 in Ballouville.
Doris attended Attawaugan and Killingly Schools. She worked at Danielson Curtain in Attawaugan. She then later owned and operated Johnies Grill in Dayville. Doris retired in 1985 from William Prym Corp. Doris was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Ballouville until its closing. She loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed camping and adored spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
She leaves two sons: Dale and his wife Debra Desmarais of Attawaugan, Dean and his wife Virginia Desmarais of Attawaugan, her grandchildren: Darryll, David, Greg, Kayla, Dylan and Deirdre, a great grandchild, Adyson. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville. To share a memory with her family "Light a Candle" at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
