Joseph Nelson Raymond Lucier, 71, of East Killingly, CT, beloved husband of Jacqueline Anne (LaCroix) Lucier, passed over to be with other loved ones on June 10, 2012 in the home he dearly loved, with his wife by his side after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1941 in Brooklyn, CT, son of the late Aimas Nelson Lucier and Rita Alma (Fregeau) Lucier. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Jacqueline A. (LaCroix) Lucier, his loving daughter Lise Adrienne Creswell, son-in-law Jonathan W. Creswell and grandchildren he dearly loved, Jonathan David Creswell and Jacqueline Joyce Creswell of Danielson; his brother Joseph George Donald Lucier and sister-in-law Jeanne of Danielson; and his sister Dolores Senecal and brother-in-law Conrad of Moosup. Joseph is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Duncan and Donna Jean Safford of VT, Marc and Laura LaCroix of VT, Robert and Janet LaCroix of NY, David and Karen Grimaldi of NJ, and Michael LaCroix of VT as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his beloved son David Robert Lucier in 2000. Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Putnam Technical School in the field of carpentry. After graduating he entered the armed forces, serving with the US Army in Germany, Korea and Vietnam before he was honorably discharged in 1964. He was later employed by American Optical, Rogers Corp, American Thermos and finally Frito-Lay, retiring in 2002 after 25 years of service. He was a communicant of St. James Parish, Danielson. Joseph loved sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the local Little League Baseball and Football. He particularly loved to watch his son and grandson play and even coached his son’s Little League team. He was a fine carpenter and loved making furniture for his home and doing home projects. The Craftsman section at Sears was one of his favorite places. He also enjoyed fishing, playing ball with his grandson, watching old westerns on TV as well as going to ball games with his brother, going out for a ride and breakfast with his sister, and spending time with his family. He was a truly devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr’s.
