Obituary of Edna W. Belair

Edna W. Belair, 87, of S. Woodstock, CT., died Sunday at the Day Kimball Hospital after a brief Illness. Born in Putnam October 25, 1924 she was the daughter of Alfred A. and Ruth Cole West. She graduated from Woodstock Academy and became the wife of Leonard Belair of Putnam on October 8, 1945. As a resident of Glastonbury, Edna worked for many years at the Salmon Brook Nursing Home and the Glastonbury Bank. She retired in Woodstock in 1980 where she was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret, the Happy Singers and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Edna enjoyed flowers, birds and visiting with her friends. She will be missed by her husband Leonard and their children, Randy Belair and wife Janis of Willington, CT, Timothy Belair and wife Kathy of South Berwick, ME, and Lori Dakin and husband Dennis of Woodstock. Edna will also be missed by her grandchildren, Briana Ross and husband Jason, Kelly Hemming and husband Matt, Jennifer Dakin, Dana Allen and husband Peter, Kate Belair, and great grand-children, Jenna, Jackson, Lauren and Charlotte. Services were held June 16th at Quassett Cemetery. Remembrance donations may be sent to the Connecticut Audubon Society (218 Day Road Pomfret, CT 06259) or the Alzheimer's Assoc. (19 Ohio Ave., Norwich, CT 06360).
