Obituary of Albert "Butch" K. Goodwin

Albert K. “Butch” Goodwin, 83 of Danielson passed away peacefully Saturday March 7, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Albert was born May 27, 1931 at St. Joseph Hospital in Willimantic, son of the late Kenneth and Elsie (Sumner) Goodwin. Albert grew up in Willimantic and graduated from Windham High School in 1951. He started working at Electro Motive Manufacturing Co. in Willimantic, where he met the love of his life Rita Cote of Danielson. They were married May 16, 1953 in The Methodist Church in Danielson. He also worked as a machinist for over 40 years with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and drove school bus in between for numerous towns in NE CT and for The Eastconn Schools driving kids to Alternative Schools. Albert leaves behind his loving wife Rita (Cote) Goodwin of Danielson, daughter Mary Lou and her husband David Leach of Brooklyn, son Mark Goodwin of Danielson, his only granddaughter Jenny Lynn Baron of Brooklyn and Trixie his beloved Dog. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother William. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 11:30 AM in Westfield Cemetery, North Street, Danielson, CT.
