Obituary of Elaine L. Nadeau
Elaine L. Nadeau, 64, of Pineville Road, Dayville, CT, formerly of Putnam, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home. She was born January 2, 1949 in Putnam, daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Castonguay) Nadeau. She had made her home in Putnam most of her life, moving to Dayville a year ago. She worked as an Aide at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam for over 20 years. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Over the years she always found great pleasure in organizing family reunions and gatherings. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She leaves her children: Frederick Dawley, III and his wife Erin of Charlotte, NC; Laurie Bernier and her husband John of Dayville; her former husband Frederick Dawley, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, her siblings Roger Nadeau of Niantic; Lillian Gibson of Killingly; Lauraine White of Westbrook; Ronald Nadeau of Oswego, NY; Jeannette Shaw of Killingly; her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Joshua, Hannah, Connor, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two siblings, Alice Streich and Jean Paul Nadeau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling Hours Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elaine's memory to Hospice of Northeast Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam CT 06260.
