Dear All,
I was saddened to hear that Noel had died. Mum sent rounds of emails.
My very distinct memory of the sweet, well read, conversationalist was from one dinner we had in 1990. I was on a work trip and I promised mum to connect with Noel and Bunny.
Noel pick me up at the hotel - years before the internet was available to all. I asked him “ How will you know who I am?” He said I will.
We had dinner with Evie , Bunny and Noel, a roaring fire and open conversation and then one of Noel’s boys gave me a book. I kept looking at the cottage out the window and kept asking doesn’t it look like people out there to you....Noel laughed he said its just the birch trees no fences.
Many years later I was able to host his granddaughter at my house for a thanksgiving.
My great aunt Evie and my mothers tie to her family of origin.
Thank you Noel for all your wonderful compendiums and books that you left - Give Evie a hug and please go give Dad a hug for me. I do think there is just another dimension to life - or afterlife. I hope there is .
Love

My deepest condolences to Ruth, Joe, Paul and Robert. I remember a warm caring man who spoke at my wedding with such gentle humour. I was deeply touched by the family history in the two books of his that I received. The world was made better because he was in it. My love to you all.

Kari, Ray and I were so sorry to hear of Noel's passing. Joe, Ruth, Paul and Robert, your father was an interesting and welcoming figure in our lives through the years. I knew him first, when he courted Evelyn in Vancouver, and then met him at family gatherings across Canada and the eastern U.S. Noel was the consummate gentleman; we always felt welcome in his home, wherever that was. Family was important to Noel. He maintained contact with all the far-flung family members, no matter where they lived.
We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After attending the American Toy Fair in NYC one year, I took the train north to visit Bunny. She then took me to Noel's home for supper. In the middle of the evening, he received a phone call from my brother, Ken, to say that he and Joan were in the neighbourhood (their home is in southern Ontario!) and would like to visit. So some of us piled into Noel's car and drove to a filling station near a highway where we met Ken and Joan so they could follow us back to Noel's home. What a wonderful gathering of family from different places getting together in a friendly home. Noel welcomed and shared, and made people feel comfortable.
Our love to you all, and to Bunny and Jean. Love from the clan from Winnipeg.

Dear Cousins Ruth, Joe, Paul and Bob
Although unable to attend my Uncle Noel's memorial service, know that I will be with you in the spirit of love that I always felt when talking with your Dad. He inevitably sparked the Irish laughter residing within me as we traded stories and as we realized our common ground of goodness in the love of nature and small beautiful churches.
Thank you Paul for calling me and then sharing those special end-life moments. I know what it is like to lose someone so close.
Celebrate extravagantly a life well lived, share great stories and be sure to have lots of laughter! Smiling through my tears as I join you from distant Ottawa.
Hugs,
Jill

Our deepest sympathies to all the family circle on the passing of your dear father and grandfather. To us over here in Ireland, Noel was a much loved cousin, a link to our shared Frizell ancestry and a wonderful gentleman. We remember fondly his many visits to Ireland and our times together here and in Connecticut.
Whilst we sadly cannot be at his memorial service in Brooklyn, our thoughts are very much with you all.
With love and condolences,
from the family of Sarah Frizell (Noel's Aunt) and Thomas Mckitterick,
Elsie, Maureen & George, Stephen & Mildred, Phyllis & Stan, Chris, Valerie and the wider family in Northern Ireland
