Obituary of Rose L. Sweet Duprey

Rose L. Sweet Duprey, 84 of Wauregan, died Dec. 23, 2015 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born Nov. 9, 1931 in Norwich, daughter of the late Lionel and Rose (Gorsky) Belanger. She attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Plainfield High School. She worked at Gant Shirt, Wauregan Mills and Novelty textiles. Rose was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens. Rose enjoyed Bingo and playing cards. She made her home in Wauregan all of her life. She was a life member of the Atwood Hose Co, Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister. Rose had a loving and caring personality and everyone that knew her, loved her. She leaves her children Ronald Sweet of Sterling, and Darlene Sweet of Wauregan, her sister Arline Deloge of Moosup, her granddaughter Sherry Sweet of and her fiancé Brad Bonin Woodstock, a nephew Michael Lamoureux and a niece Linda Lamoureux. She was predeceased by her sisters Vivian Lamoureux and Evelyn Lavalle and her foster sisters Gertrude Marszalek and her husband John and Rachel Bain. Calling Hours Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral home, 33 Reynolds ST. Danielson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 9:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Wauregan. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
