Obituary of Lorena B. Savard

Putnam, CT - Lorena B. Savard, 73, passed away at home on Friday, January 15, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS. She is survived by her husband, Roger, son Dean and his wife Amanda of Corsica, PA, four grandchildren, Mickayla, Kasey, Chance, Amber and one great granddaughter Kaliea, several nieces and nephews. She was born August 30, 1942 in Putnam, daughter of the late Alfred and Florence Berube. Lorena attended Putnam High School and graduated from Quinebaug Valley Community College with honors in 1978. Lorena was recognized in Who’s Who of American Women and a member of the American Biographical Institute. She was a parishioner of St Mary Church of the Visitation, and married Roger Savard in 1962. Lorena loved to travel with her husband and traveled extensively throughout the United States. She enjoyed reading and doing research and lived her life in a holistic and organic manner. Lorena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law and friend. A Calling Hour will be Monday, January 18, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Church of the Visitation , 218 Providence Street, Putnam.
