Obituary of Claire L. Bennett

Claire L. Bennett, 79, of Putnam, died unexpectedly, January 27, 2016 at the Webster Traditional Care Unit in Webster. Born February 23, 1936 in Putnam, daughter of the late Roland and Mary (LaBossiere) Gaucher. Claire was a lifelong resident of Putnam and was a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. Claire was a Constant Care Attendant at Day Kimball Hospital for over ten years, worked at US Button for over 30 years and also at the C & M Corp. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and spending time with her family. Claire leaves her brother Roland, wife Diane and their three children, Roland, Matthew and Daniel. She also leaves her children, Sandra Klein and her husband Mark of Putnam, Richard Bennett, Jr. and his wife Louise of Putnam, David Bennett and his wife Lori of Pomfret, her beloved grandchildren Lynn, Angela, Brian, Rebecca, Christina, Mark Jr., Jacob, Nicole, and great grandchildren Branson, Riley, Leila, Layton and Nolan and her good friend Dot Murawski of Putnam. She was predeceased by her daughter Linda Bennett in 1960 and her former husband Richard in 2006. Calling Hours from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 with a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam.
