I first me Evelyn when she and Elmer were members of Midtown Fitness. They exercised each morning quite early! One day during our conversation Evelyn mentioned that it was their anniversary, their first anniversary. How sweet!
Most recently I had seen Evelyn at Westview where she and Lil were roommates and constant companions. I was aware that Lil had passed earlier this week, and worried about how that would weigh on Evelyn. It evidently had a profound effect on her.
I know that Evelyn was a faithful member of East Woodstock church, and had encountered her serving their at the funeral of an acquaintance several years ago.
Evelyn was a woman of grace, a member of the greatest generation. Please know that she touched many lives in ways you will never know. Praise God for the life of this one good woman.
