Obituary of Thelma Geer

Thelma “Penny” Geer, 92, of Putnam, died peacefully, Thursday evening, April 28, 2016, at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Royce Geer, he died in 1972. She was born August 13, 1923 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Harold and Annie Palmer. Penny devoted her life to taking care of people. She will be remembered for her strong will and her heart of gold. She leaves her two daughters, Judith Page of East Hartford; Vicki Favreau and her husband Mark of North Grosvenordale; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Robert “Skip” Geer, David Geer and Kenny Geer. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT.
