Obituary of Stephen R. League

Stephen R. League March 2, 1974 - December 6, 2016 Woodstock, CT - Stephen R. League, We don’t fear death. We fear that no one will notice and that we will disappear without a trace. No one will ever forget the impact on their lives. There is not enough sparkle to fill the hole he has left in our hearts. The universe has lost one of its brightest stars. On December 6th Stephen passed away peacefully in his sleep. Stephen was born in New Kensington, PA to Josephine League of Danielson, CT and Roger League of Richmond, VA. He was a wanderer at heart, never known to be in one spot for too long. He split his time later in life between Fort Lauderdale, FL and Woodstock, CT. Stephen enjoyed life to the fullest. Music, dance landscaping and traveling with his beloved dog Portia are just a few of the many things he was known for. Those who knew him, will never forget his kindness, ability to make you laugh, or just make you feel better no matter the situation. He was never afraid to be himself, no matter what anyone thought. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father Robert Blanchette of Danielson, CT, his sister Maria Gandy-Winslow and husband Scott of Brooklyn, CT, his sister Diana Gandy of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and his brother Joseph League and wife Melissa of Canterbury, CT. Also, survived by five nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces, and two great-nephews. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home in Danielson, CT. There will be a private funeral for family and close friends. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
