Obituary of Jennie A. Chartier
Jennie A. Chartier, 92, of Dayville, CT passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 1st. Born in Plainfield on September 8, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophie (Kogut) Olearos.
Jennie attended Moosup, CT schools. She married Albert L. Chartier in 1947 and they spent the next 63 years together. She worked most of her life at Acme Cotton. She enjoyed gardening, baking and listening to polka music. She was a devout Catholic who attended services at several of the local Parishes.
Jennie is survived by her children Allen Chartier and his wife Nancy; Susan Chartier; Thomas Chartier and his wife Sandra all of Dayville, CT; and Carolyn Chartier-Normandie and her husband Peter Normandie of Woodstock, CT; grandchildren Scott; Christopher; Jennifer; Thomas; Jeremy; Vera; Elijah; eleven great grand-children and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased her husband Albert in 2010; a brother Alex Olearos and sister Helen Daigneault.
Her family would like to give a special thank you to Jennie's live-in caregiver Gifty, from Love and Caring Homecare who made all our lives so much easier due to her overwhelming compassion and love. We also want to thank the dedicated staff of Masonicare Hospice for their devotion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 8, at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT, burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
