Carolyn H. Williamson, 84, of Pomfret Center, CT died peacefully at home on February 18, 2014 with family by her bedside. Carolyn was born on January 15, 1930 in Charlotte, NC to Frederick and Opal (Hindman) Himes. She was the loving and beloved wife of the late Charles E. Williamson, Jr.
Carolyn was a 1952 graduate of Goucher College, Baltimore, MD, and began her working career with Baltimore Gas & Electric Company. After moving to Pomfret in 1971 she began working as a Language Training Tutor at The Rectory School from where she retired in 1995.
Carolyn's priority was in the caring of her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved reading and had a passion for children's literature. She also enjoyed a good game of Scrabble. Carolyn was an active member at St Columba's Anglican Church in Dudley, MA.
She leaves her children, Charles F. Williamson of Pomfret Center, CT, James T. Williamson of Burlington, VT, Timothy M. Williamson of Orchard Park, NY and Amy G. Kelly and her husband Joseph of Newport Center, VT who will miss her but always have her presence. She also leaves her grandchildren Sabrina, Ophelia, Noah, Sidney and Morgan all who adored her.
Requiem Mass funeral is to be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, CT at 10am on February 22, 2014 with a reception to follow.
