Obituary of Francis A. Aubin
Francis "Whip" A. Aubin, 80, of East Killingly, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was born October 27, 1933 in Putnam, CT, son of the late Odilon and Emma (LeFlash) Aubin. On June 8, 1957 he married the love of his life Gail T. Ledogar in St. Anne Church Ballouville, CT.
Francis was a Communicant of St. Anne Church in Ballouville, CT. He was a member of the Danielson Elks, American Legionand The Knights of Columbus. He loved to play horseshoes and go fishing for bullhead. He was an amazing husband, father, pop and g-pop. He had a witty sense of humor and was friendly to everyone. Francis was an avid Red Sox fan and celebrated onhis 70th Birthday with a Red Sox World Series Win in 2004.
He leaves his wife Gail T. Aubin of Dayville, a son Francis A. Aubin, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Pomfret, a daughter Patricia Aubin of Chaplin, grandchildren Craig Aubin (Jamie) of Thompson, Holly MacLeod (Eric) of Brooklyn, Amy LaPrade (Anthony) of Woodstock, Olivia and Alex Aubin-Brouillard of Chaplin, great grandchildren Ayla and Ashel, several in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Ernest, Noel, Donald, Beatrice, Rita, Helen and Leo.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson. The Funeral will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in hismemory to The Hospice of Northeast Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
