Obituary of Aurore E. Roy

Aurore E. Roy, 89, of Brooklyn died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Westview Nursing Home in Dayville. She was the beloved wife of George Roy, they were married December 6, 1942 at St. James Church, he died in 2000. She was born January 31, 1923 in Canada, daughter of the late Conrad and Marie-Ange (Pouliot) Turcotte. She was a communicant of our Lady of LaSalette She attended St. James School and was a 1942 graduate of Killingly High School. Upon completion of her education she worked at Keeches. After her marriage she worked at Inter-Royal as a welder a postion she held for thirty years. She was an avid Bingo and card player. Aurore was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and of the UConn Basketball Teams. She devoted time to her family and assisting them. She was the oldest of eight children. She leaves her daughters Elaine and her husband Edward Rzeznikiewicz of Brooklyn, Cecile and her husband Dennis Smith of Dayville, her brothers Sylva Turcotte and Norman Turcotte, her sisters Theresa Cusson, Rita LeBeau, Mignonne Tourtellotte, Annette Ouellette and Cecile Ravenelle, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
