Michael McMerriman of Brooklyn, CT, they were married on June 23, 2001 on top of Mount Greylock in North Adams, MA. She was born November 24, 1971 in Putnam, daughter of Barbara (Kuchy) Coutu of Holiday, FL and the late Francis "Rocky" Allen, Jr.
She was a 1989 graduate of Killingly High School, and received an associate's degree from Quinebaug Community College in 2011. She enjoyed and appreciated all that nature had to give, especially fond of spectacular sunsets, majestic mountains, and flowing waterfalls. Penny enjoyed spontaneous adventures and always had a warm welcoming smile for everyone. Her husband and her children were her world. As well as cherishing the outdoors, she loved cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed decorating her home. She kept a special Christmas tree year round and would decorate it according to the season. She was truly dedicated to her family, sharing love compassion and support for anything they did. She also loved taking many photographs to save 'the memories" as well as arts and crafts. Christmas time was special to Penny and she loved to decorate the house and sing along with "The Carpenter's" Christmas Album.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Mike and her three children Kay of Holiday FL, Matthew and Michael of Brooklyn, her mother Barbara and brother Scott Allen and his girlfriend Shelley of Woodstock and his children Jared and Cassie, also her in-laws Eugene and Maureen McMerriman, several additional nieces, nephews and cousins.
