Obituary of Emily M. Shaw

Emily M. Shaw, age 92, of Butts Road Woodstock, Connecticut, formerly of Pomfret, died Monday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut. She was born September 8, 1912 in Putnam, daughter of the late Carlton and Georgetta (Brigham) Shaw.

Emily made her home in Pomfret all her life moving to Woodstock in July. She had worked for many years for various families in Pomfret. She was a member of the Putnam United Methodist Church, Putnam, and a golden member of the Wolf Den Grange in Pomfret. She was very devoted to her home and her cats.

She leaves two sisters Beatrice Danielson of Pomfret; Florence Streeter of Woodstock; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings Lillian Shaw, Walter Shaw; Philip Shaw; Stanley Shaw; Clarence Shaw; Clayton Shaw; Evelyn Sherman; Ruth Shaw.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Putnam United Methodist Church, 53 Grove Street, Putnam, Connecticut. Burial following in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam. Donations may be made in her memory to the Memorial Funds of the Putnam United Methodist Church. The Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street Putnam is directing arrangements.
