Obituary of Horace F. Grant

Horace "Hop" F. Grant, age 89, of Pomfret, CT, died Sunday December 19, 2004 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was the husband of the late Marguerite Jane (Davis) Grant, she died in 2001. He was born September 30, 1915 in Buckland, CT. He operated a Dairy and Potato Farm for many years. He also operated Grant Excavation/Construction with his son for many years. He had made his home in the Putnam-Pomfret area for over sixty years. He was an avid reader and a skilled Skeet Shooter and had won many awards over the years. He was a member of the Putnam Rod and Gun Club. He will be remembered as a loving and caring Grandfather. He leaves a son, Stewart (Donna) Grant of Pomfret; his grandchildren: Shelby; Brandon; Gabriel; a sister-in-law Bernice Grant of Rockville, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 31, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in the spring in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson.
