Obituary of Robert Paul Smith
Robert P. Smith, 54, of Underwood Road, Putnam, died Monday morning unexpectedly at this home. He was born February 26, 1950 in Putnam, son of Robert D. Smith of Putnam and the late Alice (Choquette) Smith.
Robert had worked at American Optical in Southbridge, Warren Corporation in Stafford Springs. He enjoyed working on cars and cutting firewood. He was a former member of the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department. He will be remembered as a caring and loving father, son, brother, grandfather and nephew.
He leaves in addition to his father, three daughters: Sherrie Gould of Putnam; Paulette Montpelier of North Grosvenordale; Elaine Pearsall of Dayville; a brother: Allan R. Smith of Brooklyn; an uncle: Raymond Smith of Putnam; his former wife: Faith A. Lucier of Dayville; grandchildren: Kayla Gould; Joseph Gould, Jr.; Kyle Montpelier; Harley Montpelier.
A Memorial Mass will be Friday at 10:30 AM in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, CT. No Calling Hours.
Burial in the spring in ST Mary Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the charity of ones choice.
