Obituary of Joseph Gauthier
Joseph Gauthier, age 97, of Arthur Street, Putnam, died January 14, 2005, Friday afternoon at the Haven Health Care in Danielson. He was the beloved husband of Palma (Billings) Gauthier. He was born February 9, 1907 in Brooklyn, son of the late Nelson and Agnes Gauthier.
He was a painting contractor. Mr. Gauthier owned and operated Gauthier Painting and Decorating in Hartford for over 25 years. He also was the sexton of St Joseph Church in Dayville in the 1930s.
He leaves in addition to his wife, a son: Richard B. Gauthier of Port ST Lucie, FL; a step-son: Ronald Hemmingway of Dayville. Three grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Delores Gauthier.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 AM from Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at ST Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. Calling Hours Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
