Obituary of Dorothy Korba Robbins
Dorothy Korba Robbins, age 73, of Maple Courts, Danielson formerly of Abington, died Sunday January 16, 2005 at the W. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was the wife of the late David Mason Robbins, Sr., he died in 1996. She was born February 19, 1931 in Willimantic, daughter of the late John and Mildred (Ellis) Korba.
Dorothy worked for 12 years at the Pomfret General Store and also as a waitress at the Abington Diner. She was a caregiver for many members of her family. She has made her home in Danielson for the last ten years, moving from Abington. She enjoyed artwork and crafts.
She leaves a son: David Robbins and his wife Pamela of Willimantic; a brother: Jack Korba and his wife Beverly of Waterford; a close friend: Joe Kalia of Danielson; two sisters-in-law: Betty Korba of Harleysville, PA; Joan Robbins of Killingly; three grandchildren; three nieces: Kathy McCarthy of Mansfield; Linda Cushman of Old Wethersfield; Shelly Burelle of Hampton; a nephew: Bill Korba of NJ and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother: William Korba.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling hour from 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial in Abington Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of CT VNA, 20 Furnace Street, Danielson CT 06239.
